Terms and Conditions for Mediterranean Opera Studio and Festival

Please read these terms and conditions carefully before applying to or participating in our Service.

1. Interpretation and Definitions

1.1 Interpretation

Words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

1.2 Definitions

For the purposes of these Terms and Conditions:

  • Program refers to the Mediterranean Opera Studio and Festival summer program in Sicily.
  • Website refers to Mediterranean Opera Studio and Festival, accessible from [mediterraneanoperafestival.com]
  • Service refers to the Website and the opera program in Sicily.
  • You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or applying to the Program.
  • Company (referred to as either “the Company”, “We”, “Us” or “Our” in this Agreement) refers to Mediterranean Opera Studio and Festival.

2. Acknowledgment

These are the Terms and Conditions governing the use of this Service and the agreement that operates between You and the Company. These Terms and Conditions set out the rights and obligations of all users regarding the use of the Service and participation in the Program.

Your access to and use of the Service, and your application to and participation in the Program, are conditioned on Your acceptance of and compliance with these Terms and Conditions. By accessing or using the Service, or by applying to the Program, You agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

3. Application and Admission

3.1 Application to the Program must be made through the YAP Tracker platform or as otherwise specified by the Company.

3.2 Applicants must be at least 18 years old.

3.3 A non-refundable application fee of $35 is required with each application.

3.4 The Company reserves the right to accept or reject any application at its sole discretion.

4. Program Participation

4.1 The Program dates are June 22, 2025 – July 28, 2025. Participants must be available for the entire duration unless enrolled in an abbreviated program.

4.2 Participants are required to arrive knowing their role(s) and chorus parts completely off-book. Failure to do so may result in the participant becoming a cover and not performing the role.

4.3 Participants are required to attend all scheduled activities, including but not limited to lessons, coaching sessions, rehearsals, and performances.

4.4 The Company reserves the right to modify the Program schedule and content at any time.

5. Fees and Refunds

5.1 The participation fee for the full 5-week Program is $6000. Abbreviated programs are $1200 per week.

5.2 Participation fees are non-refundable under any circumstance.

5.3 Participants are strongly advised to purchase travel insurance before paying the participation fee and booking travel.

6. Performance and Intellectual Property

6.1 The Company reserves all rights to recordings, photographs, and other media produced during the Program.

6.2 Participants grant the Company the right to use their name, likeness, and performance in promotional materials and recordings without additional compensation.

7. Code of Conduct

7.1 Participants are expected to maintain professional behavior at all times during the Program.

7.2 The Company reserves the right to dismiss any participant for unprofessional behavior, failure to comply with Program rules, or any other reason deemed necessary by the Company.

8. Limitation of Liability

8.1 The Company is not responsible for any personal injury, property damage, or loss incurred by participants during the Program.

8.2 Participants are responsible for their own health insurance and any medical expenses incurred during the Program.

9. Changes to the Program

The Company reserves the right to make changes to the Program, including but not limited to changes in faculty, repertoire, and schedule, without prior notice.

10. Governing Law

MOSF operates in Italy and Festival shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Italy, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

11. Changes to These Terms and Conditions

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. If we make material changes to these Terms, we will notify you by email or through the Website.
