Program Overview
- Duration: Five weeks, from June 21 (Arrival) to July 27 (Departure)
- Location: Caltagirone, Sicily (UNESCO World Heritage Site)
- Operas: Le Nozze di Figaro, Rigoletto, and Don Pasquale

Program Structure
Pricing
The participation fee for singers is $6000 for the entire 5 weeks (get a 10% discount if you enroll by November 30). This includes all studies, and activities, housing at our dorm, breakfast and lunch at the dorm, travel on the island to and from the airport, weekly laundry service, and tourism.
Enroll before November 30 to receive a 10% discount on tuition.
You can opt for an abbreviated program. Abbreviated programs are in one week increments and cost $1200 per week.
You can opt for housing at the NH Villa San Mauro Hotel at a premium cost.

Pre-Arrival Preparation
- Preparation of vocal, emotional, and acting aspects for the operas
- Virtual study and staging planning
- Familiarization with voice teachers, conductors, and coaches
- Singers do not compete for performances at MOSF. If you are accepted for a role, you are assigned to that role. If you show up not knowing your role entirely you will automatically be assigned as a cover and will not perform the role.
In Sicily Schedule
3 Phases at MOSF
Weeks 1-2
(June 22 – July 5)
This time is dedicated to staging and music rehearsals with conductors and guest coaches to prepare for the operas.
- Monday to Saturday: Staging operas (9am-1:30pm, 3:00-6:30pm)
- Sunday evening of first week: Opening Concert
Weeks 3-4
(July 6 – July 19)
Dedicated to individual voice lessons, individual coachings, masterclasses and performances.
- Masterclass: 9-11am
- Orchestra Time: 11-12:30pm
- Lessons and coaching: 10am-1:30pm, 3-5:30pm
- Shows: 6:30pm on Weekdays (invitation only), 8:30pm on weekends (public)
- Saturdays – tourism
Weeks 5
(July 20 – July 27)
This period is dedicated to masterclasses and coachings with guests.
- Studies Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday:
- Masterclass: 10-12pm
- Performances: 5:00pm (invitation only) or 8:30pm (public)
- Wednesday: Trip and recreation
- Saturday: Final concert (everyone performs)
- Sunday: Free and preparing for departure
Final performances and farewell events will take place on July 25, with departure on July 27.
Performance Information
- Performances begin at the end of week 2
- Mix of public and invitation-only shows
- Audiences are present either by invitation on weekdays, or open to the general public on weekends.
- All participants must attend every show
- Singers must know their roles completely off-book upon arrival
- All singers participate in chorus in every opera when not performing as principals
- Consider that there are multiple casts for each opera to give opportunity to all participants; so you will be in chorus quite a bit.


Recreation
- Sicily offers beautiful landscapes, beaches, cuisine, and culture
- Recreational activities are scheduled to balance the workload
- When not working, participants are encouraged to decompress and enjoy Sicily
Shorter Program Option
- Available between June 22 and July 19 (minimum 1 week)
- Includes voice lessons, coachings, and participation in all MOSF activities
- Does not include performing in operas as soloists
