Jordan Averett is a soprano from Atlanta, GA, who graduated from Emory University, where she double majored in Music, studying Vocal Performance, and Finance. At Emory, Jordan was a Robert W. Woodruff Scholar, a full-ride merit scholarship award recognizing academic and artistic achievement. Jordan studied voice under Professor Bradley Howard and Dr. Bethany Mamola, with whom she continued her vocal studies following graduation. As part of her undergraduate training, she presented Junior and Senior voice recitals, which reflected her technical and musical development over the course of her studies. Jordan made her operatic debut as Leona in La belle Hélène through the Franco-American Vocal Academy in Angers, France, in 2025. She is excited to play Susanna in Le nozze di Figaro this summer with the Mediterranean Opera Studio and Festival. Jordan’s operatic work is complemented by extensive choral and concert experience, including being a choral member in Verdi’s Requiem, Mozart’s Requiem, Orff’s Carmina Burana, and Poulenc’s Gloria with the Emory University Symphony Orchestra. She also enjoyed being a member of Emory’s chamber choral group, Concert Choir, where she sang as a soprano for four years and served as President during her senior year. Jordan is passionate about using opera to tell compelling stories and connect with audiences, and she is thrilled to be a part of this program.
